Punjab aims for a 'drug-free' state by next Independence Day, declares CM Mann
Addressing a state-level event on the occasion of India's 77th Independence Day, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed his determination to eradicate the drug menace from Punjab. He outlined a blueprint aimed at making the state drug-free by the upcoming Independence Day. Emphasizing the innate leadership qualities of Punjabis, Mann stressed the need to channel their boundless energy into positive pursuits.
Mann highlighted Punjab's potential as a land of born leaders who shouldn't lag behind in any domain. He urged the necessity to harness their immense energy, an endeavor being actively pursued by the state government. He asserted that through dedicated efforts, Punjab will not only lead the nation but also serve as a global guide once it achieves this milestone.
Strategies against drug menace
Mann revealed that a comprehensive plan is in place to combat the drug menace. The state government's proactive approach, in collaboration with public support, aims to tackle the issue. While details of the plan weren't extensively discussed, Mann affirmed that substantial progress will be evident soon. He shared that villagers have offered their support, given their intimate knowledge of drug-related activities within their communities.

The government's priority lies in health, education, employment, and agriculture sectors, in honor of the dreams of freedom fighters and national heroes.
Mann outlined his administration's commitment to combat corruption, striving to make Punjab a corruption-free state. He highlighted the meticulous use of state funds, debunking the notion of an empty treasury. The government is dedicated to utilizing every penny for the welfare of the people.
Efforts are directed towards depoliticizing village 'sarpanch' (village head) elections to ensure peaceful and unbiased contests. Villages that elect their 'sarpanchs' unanimously will receive grants for developmental projects, fostering an atmosphere of unity and progress.
